Job Completion Survey

  • Comment: Teasdale sent Josh & Matt to redo the job and things went smoothly. They showed me the filter inside the HEPA after completing the job so I could get an idea of how much debris had been left in our duct system (a significant amount). They didn't just do the ducts that were missed, but did the entire job again, which I was impressed by.

In addition, they gave me a voucher for a free carpet cleaning of up to 4 rooms.

Overall, I am very pleased with how they handled the situation. The only thing that could have been better is if they would have responded to my phone complaint with the same urgency that they responded to this Google review.

    Initial Review (2 stars):
Teasdale Fenton does not own up to their mistakes. I will never recommend them to anyone, and will not consider using them in the future unless this changes.

Jacob was the tech that came 4 days ago to clean our HVAC ducts. We just bought a home and realized the previous owner of 30 yrs had a cat. After looking into the return duct under our living room floor and seeing cobwebs and layers and layers of dust, it was a must that we get this service.

Jacob was a nice guy, explained what he'd be doing, answered my questions, etc. I authorized the work, but waited to write a check. He got set up and took about 90 mins to "complete" the work. He packed up his van BEFORE coming to me to make sure I was satisfied with everything (and herein is the problem; DO NOT pack up BEFORE having the home-owner sign a piece of paper that says they are satisfied with all the work. Clearly if I'm not satisfied, there will be more work to do!)

He calls me downstairs letting me know he's done and is at the table expecting me to sign-off and write a check. Instead I look into the return duct. I am confused by what I see, it clearly has less dust than before, but there are still piles and clumps of dust about halfway through the duct. I expressed concern saying "I was expecting all of this to be gone". WITHOUT LOOKING FOR HIMSELF, he starts telling me that the rest will be pushed through in the next couple of days and that he couldn't get too tough with the air hose and tools because he didn't want to damage the wiring that goes through the duct . . . I persist in my concern and he eventually goes to get the air hose and immediately starts working it into the return duct from the living room, I decide to start checking the rest of his work in other rooms on the 1st floor and as I come back into the dining room I see tons of dust floating in the air. (Jacob can't see this, because his back is to the dining room) I tell him to stop the hose, point out the dust cloud, and immediately open a window. He goes to his van to get the film that covers the vents, puts that on the dining room supply cover and continues hosing from the living room . . . I start cleaning dust off of everything from our dining room table to our stove top, kitchen counters and 1 year old's high chair.

To be fair, Jacob tried to help by wiping the table a bit. He also apologized and explained why that large amount of dust was missed originally, but the damage was done. He took the $75 antimicrobial fee off at my request for a discount, but after taking the next hour and a half to clean the dining room, living room and kitchen surfaces and then going into my basement to see he had completely missed two vents, I decided the $342.37 I paid was far more than they deserved.

I called their offices the next day, spoke with a supervisor and explained everything I just typed. She apologized and said she'd pass that info along, but couldn't give any guarantees on what would be done and if or when someone would get back to me. I explained that I expected a response from someone within 72 hours . No such response has been given, so I am publicly airing my grievance. Images are of the (2) uncleaned vents. (There was a 3rd in the kitchen, but I had him vacuum out the debris that was readily visible before he left.)
